Pakistan Navy’s fourth Yarmook-class patrol vessel hits the water

Baird Maritime

Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania has launched the final one of four Yarmook-class offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) ordered by the Pakistan Navy.

Like its sisters, the future PNS Yamama is being built as a multi-purpose surface combatant that is also equipped to carry a helicopter, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and two rigid inflatable boats (RIBs). Armament will include a 30mm naval gun and 12.7mm machine guns.

The 91-metre-long OPV will also have deck space for two 20-foot containers housing mission-specific equipment modules.

Damen will continue to provide support to the Yarmook-class vessels for as long they are in Pakistani service.
