Naval Group has floated out the tenth and final frigate to be built under the joint French-Italian FREMM programme.
The future Lorraine will also be the second of two FREMM DA frigates that will operate primarily in the air defence role with the French Navy. The first such vessel, the future Alsace, began undergoing sea trials in October of this year.
The future Lorraine is expected to begin its own sea trials in February 2022 and is tentatively scheduled to be delivered the following November.
