The final Republic of Korea Navy LST-2 tank landing ship has been launched by South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).
The 4,500-tonne ship, which will be named No Jeok Bong, was launched at HHI's Ulsan shipyard with pennant number 689.
South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) said the 127-metre vessel will be delivered to the navy in November 2018. It is expected to be commissioned into the navy in 2019.
No Jeok Bong is named after one of the peaks of Yudal Mountain in Mokpo, South Jeolla province.
The new class of ships will complement the country's existing Go Jun Bong-class (LST-I) ships.
They can reach speeds of up to 23 knots and can carry 300 landing troops, three landing craft, two tanks and eight amphibious assault vehicles. They are also capable of operating two helicopters.
