The Israeli Ministry of Defence has awarded Israel Shipyards a contract for the detail design of the Reshef-class corvettes slated for the country's navy.
During the detail design phase, Israel Shipyards will present an engineering plan that will be adapted to the needs of the navy.
The defence ministry had earlier confirmed that eight Reshef-class corvettes will be built. These will replace the Israeli Navy's 1990s-era Sa'ar 4.5-class missile boats.
