Indonesian state-owned shipbuilder Daya Radar Utama has cut the first steel for two new offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) slated for the Indonesian Navy.
One of the OPVs will measure 90 metres long once completed. Details have not yet been provided on the future dimensions of the second vessel.
The 90-metre OPV will have four diesel engines each rated at 7,280 kW, enabling the vessel to reach a design speed of 28 knots.
Both OPVs are being built in compliance to Lloyd's Register class rules.
