Canadian Navy ships assist in Operation CARIBBE drug busts

Her Majesty's Canadian ships (HMCS) Whitehorse and Edmonton has made three drug busts in a fortnight as part of Operation CARIBBE. 

They assisted the United States Coast Guard (USCG) in seizing 2,011 kilograms of cocaine and disrupting another 845 kilograms.

On March 24, Whitehorse helped the USCG seize 30 kilograms and disrupt an estimated 845 kilograms of cocaine in international waters in the eastern Pacific, off the coast of Central America.

On April 5, Whitehorse helped the USCG to seize about 1,520 kg of cocaine in international waters in the eastern Pacific off the coast of Central America

The Canadian Armed Forces has seized more than 85 tonnes of cocaine since Operation CARIBBE started in 2006.
