Dutch offshore services company N-Sea has commenced work on a five-year contract with the Royal Netherlands Navy.
The contract, which includes two year-long extension options, will see N-Sea operate the multipurpose support vessel Geosea as a facilitating platform for mine countermeasure activity, development, and training in advance of the navy's implementation of newbuild minehunting vessels.
Owned by DOF Subsea of Norway, Geosea will sail under the Dutch flag for the duration of the contract.
The separate contract between DOF Subsea and N-Sea for the vessel was signed in February of this year.
