Seahouses RNLI welcomes newest lifeboat

Baird Maritime

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station at Seahouses on the North Northumberland coast welcomed the newest addition to its rescue fleet on Sunday, October 18.

The all-weather lifeboat will be christened John and Elizabeth Allan to honour the parents of the Scottish donor who had provided £2.2 million (US$2.86 million) for its purchase.

The vessel's propulsion consists of waterjets that will enable it to sail to speeds of up to 25 knots, making it the fastest lifeboat in the Seahouses RNLI fleet.
