Spanish shipbuilder and defence company Navantia has introduced a new series of unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) for maritime security and commercial applications such as search and rescue (SAR) and environmental control.
Each USV in the series can be fitted with a remote weapon station. Other payload options include a water cannon, radar, sonar, an electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) camera, and a LIDAR.
The craft can even be operated as a mothership for other unmanned vehicles.
The USVs will also be marketed to export customers.
