Shaver Transportation of Oregon has taken delivery of Samantha S, a new Z-drive escort tug built by Diversified Marine and designed by Jensen Maritime.
The ABS-classed 34- by 13-metre tug is designed to provide escort and ocean towing duties as well as a secondary firefighting capability.
Two GE 12V250 Tier IV medium-speed diesel engines each rated at 3,145 kW give Samantha S an estimated bollard pull of around 100 tonnes.
