Guangzhou Fire Department’s newest response boat enters service

Baird Maritime

A new firefighting and rescue vessel slated for operation on China's Pearl River has been formally inducted into service by the Guangzhou Fire Department.

Built by Jianglong Shipbuilding, Suixiao 06 has an LOA of 38.5 metres, a beam of 11.2 metres, a speed of 24 knots, and a stern launch and recovery ramp for a small response craft. The firefighting equipment consists of a 3,500m³/h pump and four water/foam monitors.

The vessel is also equipped with an advanced information system that uses sensor data to generate a 3D map of the surrounding area. Any information made available to the crew via this system can be easily shared with other incident response platforms via wireless datalink connection.
