The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station at Girvan, Scotland, launched one of its lifeboats after reports came in detailing a capsized vessel off Ballantrae Harbour on Sunday, June 13.
The RNLI crew arrived on-scene just as two Good Samaritans on another small boat recovered the two castaways shortly after 14:00 local time.
European Causeway, a Ro-Pax ferry operated by P&O Ferries, also diverted to the area and stood by off Ballantrae Harbour ready to render assistance.
The survivors were later handed over to boat crews from the HM Coastguard station at Girvan. They were then brought to shore at Girvan, where a waiting ambulance rushed them to hospital after one of them began exhibiting signs of hypothermia.
