Japanese operator Marix Line recently took delivery of a new Ro-Pax ferry built by local shipyard Naikai Zosen Corporation.
Queen Coral Cross will commence operational sailings later this month. It will initially serve Marix Line's routes that cover Naha, Kogoshima, and the Amami Islands.
The 145- by 24-metre ferry can transport a maximum of 653 passengers and 44 cars or 30 lorries. In place of vehicles, up to 246 containers may be stored in the cargo decks.
The vessel also has passenger cabins in three classes, a laundry room, a children's play area, and a lounge for travelers with pets. The public spaces also include access for passengers with limited mobility.
