Russia's Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (Minvostokrazvitiya) and the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) have begun a study of potential cruise tourism opportunities in the country's far east and Arctic regions.
Senior officials from the two government agencies first met with representatives of local cruise ship operators and other businesses in mid-March to discuss possible legislation that could aid in the development of the tourism sector in the said regions.
Alexander Kozlov, Minister for Development of the Far East and the Arctic, said that the list of proposed laws is expected to be finalised within one month.
