A fire ignited on board a cruise ship while it was berthed at the Port of Corfu in Greece on Friday, March 12.
A spokesman for MSC Cruises said the blaze ignited on MSC Lirica at around 15:42 local time on Friday.
The fire was fully extinguished by the ship's own firefighting teams and local emergency responders by 18:58. No injuries have been reported.
MSC Cruises said the vessel was in warm lay-up and thus had no passengers on board.
The fire was believed to have started in one of MSC Lirica's starboard-side lifeboats.
MSC Cruises added that a preliminary assessment showed the damage as minimal and being limited only to the vessel's exterior.
