Carnival Corporation’s net income up by almost 50 per cent

Carnival Corporation has announced a net income of US$561 million for the second quarter of 2018, almost a 50 per cent increase over last year.

Carnival's net income for the second quarter of 2017 was US$379 million, US$182 million less than 2018.

Revenues for the second quarter of 2018 were US$4.4 billion, higher than the US$3.9 billion in the prior year.

In the second quarter of 2018, Carnival subsidiary Carnival Cruise Lines took delivery of Carnival Horizon, a new cruise ship, and Seabourn took delivery of an all-suite ship in its ultra luxury fleet.

Over the quarter, Carnival increased its quarterly dividend from US$0.45 to US$0.50 and replenished the share repurchase program to US$1 billion.
