Carnival Corporation has officially opened its second cruise terminal, the Helix Cruise Centre, at the port of Barcelona.
Designed by Catalan architecture firm Batlle i Roig Arquitectura, the 12,500-square-metre terminal cost more than €46 million (US$55 million).
Designed to accommodate Carnival Corporation's new class of LNG-powered cruise ships, the terminal at the port's Adossat wharf will complement the port's first public parking facility, with almost 300 parking spaces.
Eight of Carnival Corporation's brands – AIDA Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Seabourn and P&O Cruises (UK) – visit Barcelona through the year.
