Croatian shipyard Brodosplit laid the keel of a new polar expedition vessel on Tuesday, June 2.
Once completed, the vessel will sail under the name Janssonius with Netherlands-based Oceanwide Expeditions.
The vessel is the second in a series ordered by Oceanwide. The first vessel, Hondius, was delivered in 2019.
Janssonius will have a length of 108.6 metres, a beam of 17.6 metres, capacity for 194 passengers and 78 crew, and two 2,130kW main engines that will deliver a speed of 15 knots.
Delivery is scheduled for August 2021.
