After nearly 55 years of transporting passengers and vehicles across the Saanich Inlet, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, BC Ferries' 'Mill Bay' will be conducting its last run at the end of the operating day on May 1.

'Klitsa'

The vessel will be replaced by the 'Klitsa', which will begin service on the run beginning June 1. Because the 'Klitsa' is larger and heavier than the 'Mill Bay', terminal improvements will be done while the route is temporarily closed from May 2 to 31.

"The 'Mill Bay' has performed extremely well with more than 350,000 sailings over the past half century plus," said Mike Corrigan, BC Ferries EVP and Chief Operating Officer.
