US-based Seacor Marine Holdings and Chinese shipbuilder COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan) have entered into agreements for the construction and delivery of three platform supply vessels (PSVs) for a total acquisition cost of approximately US$46 million.
The vessels will be named Seacor Alps, Seacor Andes, and Seacor Atlas.
Seacor Alps is expected to be delivered in September 2019 while Seacor Andes and Seacor Atlas are to be handed over to their new owners in January and April 2020, respectively.
The PSVs will utilise a Rolls-Royce 3,800DWT design with DP2 and FiFi1 notation. The vessels may be upgraded to accommodate battery hybrid power systems.
