Wagenborg Offshore has been awarded a six-year contract for the provision of a walk-to-work vessel to support offshore services in the southern North Sea.
Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) and Shell UK Exploration and Production (Shell UK) need the emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV) to operate as a standby and support vessel for inspection and maintenance of unmanned platforms in Dutch and British waters.
Wagenborg has signed an agreement for the delivery of a standard platform supply vessel (PSV) that will be equipped with an additional accommodation module, motion-compensated gangway and motion-compensated crane.
The walk-to-work vessel will be 83.4 metres LOA with a 6.0-metre maximum draught. It will have an 840-square-metre deck area and travel at an operating speed of 15.8 knots.
The vessel will be converted in 16 weeks by Royal Niestern Sander at Delfzijl and is expected to be delivered in March.
It will complement the existing W2W ERRV vessel Kroonborg.
