Converted PSV re-enters service as Wagenborg standby vessel

Baird Maritime

Wagenborg Offshore recently commenced operations with the third walk-to-work vessel to join its fleet.

Originally built as a platform supply vessel (PSV), the DP2-equipped Keizersborg has been converted into a standby and support vessel for inspection and maintenance of unmanned platforms in both Dutch and British waters in the southern North Sea.

Dutch shipyard Royal Niestern Sander carried out the conversion work over a period of 16 weeks. The conversion entailed the incorporation of an additional accommodation module and a motion compensated gangway.

Onboard facilities include an infirmary, reception rooms, a decontamination room, a recovery room, and extra sanitary facilities.

Keizersborg is also equipped with a daughter craft and a fast rescue boat so that rescue operations can also be carried out in bad weather.
