Philippine port operator Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) welcomed a new patrol boat into service on Monday, February 24.
Named Sea Horse 1, the vessel is the fifth to be acquired by the SBMA for operation by its Harbor Patrol. It is also the largest in the Harbor Patrol fleet with a length of 9.7 metres and capacity for 20 people.
The newbuild is powered by two 111kW engines that deliver a speed of 16 knots. It will be capable of search and rescue (SAR) and dive support missions in addition to performing harbour patrol duties.
Sea Horse 1 was built by Stoneworks Specialist International Corporation, a shipbuilder based in Cavite province south of Manila.
