Newly awarded vessel contracts and extensions in the drilling, installation, and maintenance sectors are the focus in this latest roundup. Works are for clients within a broad swathe encompassing western Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.

Vantage Drilling rig pair secure work offshore Qatar

Vantage Drilling has confirmed that two rigs in its fleet have been awarded three-year contracts to work for an unnamed client offshore Qatar.

The selected rigs are Sapphire Drillier and Aquamarine Driller, whose contracts will commence in February and March 2022, respectively.

The two rigs will operate alongside the Vantage rig Emerald Driller, which has been operating in the country since 2016.

Havila vessel awarded extension by Nexans

Havila Shipping has entered into a contract extension with Nexans for the subsea construction vessel Havila Phoenix for a period of 100 days, with further options for 40 days.

The contract will keep Havila Phoenix working for Nexans up to February 2022. For a part of the extended period, Nexans will also rent the T3200 Trencher, which will be operated from the vessel.

DOF Subsea vessels to continue work for clients in Africa, Brazil

DOF Subsea has received a six-month extension to an existing contract in Africa.

The project will continue to use the construction support vessel (CSV) Skandi Seven throughout the extended duration, delivering integrated FSV services, project management, engineering, procurement and logistical services within deep-water construction and maintenance of existing subsea infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the diving support vessel Skandi Achiever has been awarded a contract extension with Petrobras for ROV and diving services until Q4 2022.

New contracts, extensions for Solstad fleet

Solstad Offshore has confirmed that Equinor has declared an option to extend the contract for the anchor handling vessel Normand Ferking with one more year to November 2022. Equinor has two more one-year options available to extend the contract.

Normand Ferking has been on contract with Equinor since 2007 and will continue to support the latter's activities on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Solstad has also secured multiple new medium-term contracts in West Africa. Letters of agreement (LOAs) have been signed with key clients for seven platform supply vessels (PSVs), all with commencement Q4 2021 between Q1 2022.

The total firm duration of the PSV contracts is approximately 1,000 vessel days with options to extend the contracts further.

Finally, Solstad has secured a new two-year firm contract for the CSV Normand Tonjer until October 2023. The vessel has been working for the same client since 2018.
