Work Boat World Offshore Vessel Charters Roundup – December 29, 2021

Norwegian platform supply vessel (PSV) operators have secured for themselves a considerable chunk of the recent succession of awarded charters. The contracted deployments range from closer to home in the North Sea to as far away as Australia and South America.

Solstad Offshore bags numerous long-term contracts

Solstad Offshore's PSV Far Spica has been awarded a term contract with a North Sea operator. The vessel has been contracted for a period of one year firm, with further options for up to two years.

The charter commenced in December 2021 and is in direct continuation of the vessel's current contract. Far Spica has been operating with the same charterer since June 2020.

A second Solstad PSV will be deployed for work in the North Sea within this month when Normand Flipper begins work with another unnamed customer. The contract has a firm period of one year.

Solstad has also been awarded contracts for two vessels by various customers in Australia.

The anchor handling tug supply vessel (AHTS) Far Senator and the PSV Far Seeker have been awarded a contract by Santos WA Energy in support of its drilling activities for commencement in Q2 2022. Each contract has an estimated duration of 390 days with potential options thereafter.

Woodside Energy has meanwhile awarded Solstad a contract for the charter of the PSV Normand Tortuga. The vessel has been contracted to support activities with the semi-submersible vessel DPS-1 on the Enfield P&A and Scarborough projects, commencing in late Q1 or early Q2 2022.

The vessel is contracted for a firm period of 572 days with additional options available to Woodside thereafter.

Equinor has awarded the PSVs Sea Brasil and Far Scotsman new long-term contracts for work offshore Brazil. Both vessels are contracted for two years with commencement in December 2021 and June 2022, respectively, both in direct continuation with present contracts.

The contracts also cover extensions for two yearly options for Sea Brasil and one yearly option for Far Scotsman.

Siem Offshore wins Australia, Norway charters

Siem Offshore has entered into a contract with a long-term client in Australia for the PSVs Siem Pilot and Siem Thiima.

The contract for Siem Pilot covers a firm period of 572 days plus options, whereas Siem Thiima has been awarded a three-year firm contract plus options. Both contracts will commence during Q1 2022.

Meanwhile, Siem AHTS Pool (SAP), a subsidiary of Siem Offshore, has entered into a contract with Equinor Energy in Norway for the AHTS Siem Opal. The contract covers a firm period of six months plus options, and will commence during March-April 2022.

The scope of work for Siem Opal consists of supporting the client's various rig move activities during drilling campaigns.

Seajacks WTIV tapped to support Van Oord

Seajacks UK, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eneti, has entered into an agreement with Dutch marine contractor Van Oord for the wind turbine installation vessel Seajacks Scylla. The vessel is currently employed through 2022 in Taiwan, where it is performing installation work for Ørsted on the Greater Changhua Offshore Wind Farm.

Seajacks Scylla will deploy to Europe immediately upon completion of its current work in Taiwan.

Harbour Energy selects Havila PSV for four-well charter

Havila Shipping has entered into an agreement with Harbour Energy for the PSV Havila Commander.

The contract is for a firm period of four wells, with a one-well option. Commencement is scheduled for January 2022.

Equinor grants extension for Eidesvik PSV

Equinor Energy has declared options to extend the contract for Eidesvik Offshore's PSV Viking Queen from the end of January 2022 in direct continuation of the current contract. The firm period has now been extended to the end of May 2022.

Equinor still has available options for further extensions.
