Dutch offshore services provider Acta Marine will take delivery of a new hybrid multi-purpose workboat in the summer of 2021, the company said on Monday, March 29.
The DP2-equipped, 37- by 11-metre Coastal Crown will be powered by two Caterpillar C32 895kW IMO Tier III-compliant diesel engines that will reduce NOx emissions by as much as 73 per cent. It will also be equipped with a 300kWh battery-hybrid pack for both propulsion and the ship's accommodation, resulting in up to 15 per cent further reductions on fuel and CO2 emissions.
The vessel will also have an operating draught of 1.9 metres, a bollard pull of 30 tonnes, accommodations for 19 personnel, and two hydraulic deck cranes.
Coastal Crown is currently under construction at local shipyard Bijlsma Wartena.
