UK-based Energean Oil and Gas has confirmed that construction has resumed on the floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) Energean Power at the Singapore facilities of Sembcorp Marine after work had earlier been suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The next phase of construction is the integration of the topsides, which is expected to take approximately 10 months. Another four months will be allocated for towing the FPSO to the Karish field offshore Israel and its subsequent mooring, hook-up, and commissioning.
Energean said it does not expect the revised timetable to have a material financial impact. However, it has not commented whether the FPSO's initial deployment is still scheduled to proceed in the first quarter of 2021 or if it will be moved to a later time.
