Holland Shipyards Group subsidiary TV Dredging has been awarded a contract to build a new deep suction dredger and booster pontoon for Dutch construction company Hoftijzer Verhuur en Aannemingsbedijf.
The dredger will have an LOA of 20 metres, a beam of nine metres, an installed power of 1,690 kW, and a dredging depth of 37 metres. The pontoon will have a length of nine metres and a beam of 3.5 metres.
The custom-built vessel will be used for sand extraction and will be of modular construction to allow easier mobilisation and demobilisation.
Delivery and entry into service are expected in the second half of 2020.
