Royal IHC dredger pair depart for delivery voyage to Thailand

Baird Maritime

Two newbuild cutter suction dredgers (CSDs) in a series have left the Netherlands facilities of Royal IHC and are presently being transported to their new owners in Thailand.

The dredgers will be operated by the Royal Irrigation Department of the Government of Thailand for the maintenance of rivers, lakes, and canals in the north and south of the country.

Each dredger has an LOA of 20.5 metres, a beam of 5.72 metres, a draught of 1.1 metres, and a total installed power of 483 kW.

The crews that will operate the vessels recently completed training in Thailand using a Royal IHC CSD simulator. Training took place at the facilities of Frontline, a local partner of Royal IHC.
