FSUE Rosmorport's North-Western Basin Branch has started carrying out scheduled dredging operations in the water area of the seaport of Ust Luga.

The company has deployed the cutterhead backhoe dredger Waka Nami Go (pictured) and the hopper barge Usva while the suction hopper dredger Kronshlot and the recently delivered trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Rabochaya are expected to begin operations in early July.

A total of 747,970 cubic metres of bottom soil are to be extracted and carried to disposal sites. Rosmorport is planning to extract a total of 247,970 cubic metres of bottom soil while dredging of the remaining 500,000 cubic metres will be carried out by an outside contractor, which will be determined following a competitive bidding process.

From July to December 2019, Rosmorpot will carry out maintenance dredging operations. Around 46,500 cubic metres will be dredged in order to maintain project seabed levels in the water area and channels of Ust Luga port.
