Danish marine contractor Rohde Nielsen has confirmed that its two newest dredgers are now available to serve customers.
Ask R (pictured) and Embla R each have an LOA of 85.4 metres, a beam of 17.4 metres, a maximum draught of five metres, and a hopper capacity of 2,700 cubic metres.
Each dredger also has a diesel-electric propulsion system that includes three 2,350kW main engines, a 600kW battery pack, and a Siemens energy dispersion system. A maximum speed of 12 knots can be achieved.
Emissions-reducing features include diesel particulate filters and SCR systems designed to ensure compliance with EU Stage V regulations.
The dredgers were built according to Bureau Veritas class rules.
