The Netherlands: The new IHC Metalix production facility opened on Friday, November 7, 2008.
IHC Metalix is an IHC Merwede subsidiary, and one of the largest and most versatile suppliers of pre-processed metals and work preparation services in the Netherlands for the shipbuilding and ship repair industry.
J Kamminga, the chairman and general director of the FME/CWM, the employers' organisation for the technological and industrial sector, conducted the opening ceremony.
The rapid expansion of the company in recent years, and the ageing facility, made this step necessary to conform to modern standards. The new equipment consists of cutting machines, presses, profile cutting robots, cranes, transportation systems and numerous advanced software systems. Everything has been installed in the existing halls.
