New deck floodlights from Hella marine

Marine lighting manufacturer Hella marine has announced a new addition to its successful Sea Hawk LED floodlight series, the Sea Hawk-R.

Constructed of advanced non-metal materials to enhance both efficiency and reliability, the Sea Hawk-R's housing has been precision injection moulded from thermally conductive ceramic polymer. According to Hella marine, this manufacturing process ensures the unit is highly resistant to degradation, even under harsh ultraviolet light.

"The ceramic polymer effectively transfers heat away from internal electronics to external surfaces for reliable long-term operation," commented Hella marine. "The thermal polymer eliminates the requirement for an aluminium housing in this class of floodlight, removing potential surface deterioration and material corrosion risks associated with coated metal in the harsh marine environment."

The Sea Hawk-R offers 550 lumens of light for seven watts of power consumption. The engineered optical system illuminates with a wide, close-range spread over cockpits, foredecks or working areas on commercial and recreational vessels.

Also included in the Sea Hawk-R unit is Hella marine's range of benchmarks and standards, such as protected 9-33V internal electronics, sealed and pre-wired cable assemblies, a Grilamid lens for strength and ultraviolet light resistance, friction-based vertical adjustment, stainless steel brackets and fastenings and a "fit and forget" LED warranty.
