Fuzhou-based deepwater fishing company Pingtan Marine Enterprise has begun operational sailings of what it claims is the largest fishery support vessel ever to sail under the Chinese flag.
The fish carrier Fu Yuan Yu Yun 992 has been rebuilt as a refrigerated transport vessel and has already begun operating in international waters, Pingtan said in a recent press release.
The vessel has a length of 132.06 metres and a gross tonnage of 8,374.
