The vessel TX 36 'Jan vn Toon' from Texel, Holland, has trialed a combination of sumwing and electric pulse fishing gear for the first time, on Saturday, September 26, according to Visserijniuews.
Though reports said it appeared the new pulse sumwing integrated modules cut out too quickly, the crew was enthusiastic about the trial.
Following modifications to the power supply, it will sail again Monday.
In accordance with the statutory regulations, the voltage between two electrodes is only charged up to 15 volts.
Two further vessels, 'Branding IV' and 'Martha Lena', will be fitted with the equipment and trials continue.
