New Zealand King Salmon welcomes feed barge to fleet
New Zealand King Salmon has taken delivery of a new feed barge built by Z189 Shipyard in Vietnam.
Designed by Australia's Southern Ocean Solutions, Kai Hamana has capacity for 330 tonnes of pelletised feed in six silos and cabins for up to four personnel, though the barge may also be operated autonomously. Up to six different grades of feed can be stored at any given time.
An advanced feed system supplied by the AKVA Group allows for precise feed management with minimised breakage. Feed can be discharged from all six silos simultaneously.
Expansion completed on Chinese floating marine ranch
China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) has completed construction of the next phase of an offshore marine ranch complex operated by the Shandong Ocean Harvest Group in the waters off Shandong province.
The expansion of the Genghai No 1 marine ranch complex consists of a large-scale recreational fishery complex with dedicated facilities for scientific research, recreational fishing, guest accommodations, and dining. The new star-shaped fishery complex is connected to the ranch via two covered boardwalks.
Construction of the additional complex was done by CSIC in compliance to China Classification Society rules.
