Gesheng No 1 was designed by Zhuhai Gesheng Technology in compliance with China Classification Society rules to be capable of withstanding strong winds and currents.

Upon completion, the platform will have a length of 86 metres, a beam of 32 metres, a height of 16.5 metres, a draught of 10.5 metres, and a capacity of 30,000 cubic metres. It will be fitted with generators, feed storage and refrigeration equipment, automatic feeding systems, underwater surveillance cameras, and environmental monitoring systems.

Following delivery, the platform will be placed in the northern portion of Xiaozhuzhou Island in Guishan, Zhuhai, mainly to undertake breeding and production of high-value species such as tuna, octopus, grouper, and catfish. The platform will also rely on its environmental monitoring, data collection and analysis, network transmission and 5G communication system to create a new model of intelligent deep-sea aquaculture industry.
