The US Coast Guard commissioned the fast response cutter (FRC) William Hart in a ceremony in Honolulu late last month.
The Sentinel-class FRC will be the third vessel in its class to be homeported in Honolulu. It will operate throughout the 14th Coast Guard District's area of responsibility, which covers more than 36 million square kilometres of land and sea off Hawaii, American Samoa, Saipan, Guam, Singapore, and Japan.
Built by Bollinger Shipyards, William Hart has a length of 46.8 metres, a beam of 8.11 metres, a crew of 24, a range of 2,500 nautical miles, and a speed of 28 knots.
