The US Navy's 14th Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport (EPF) will be named in honour of the city of Cody, Wyoming, Secretary of the Navy Richard V. Spencer has confirmed.

The future USNS Cody will be built at the Austal USA shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. Construction is expected to commence in the middle of 2020.

Like the other Spearhead-class ships, the future Cody will have a length of 103 metres, a beam of 28.5 metres, a draught of 3.83 metres, and four MTU 20V8000 M71L diesel engines that will deliver a speed of 43 knots.
