BOOK REVIEW: Guidelines For Collecting Maritime Evidence

Baird Maritime

Edited by John Noble

Accidents, regrettably, do happen. They always have and always will, at least as long as we continue to have humans operating ships.

Given that reality, it is imperative that mariners be prepared for them. In this excellent little guidebook, the ever-reliable and innovative Nautical Institute, makes that job a little easier.

It guides master mariners as to how to respond following an accident or incident that is likely to result in an inquiry or litigation. It provides practical guidance about preserving evidence and the perspectives of lawyers, insurers and courts or arbitration hearings.

Every master mariner should read the book once and keep it available for guidance when an emergency actually happens.
