A newbuild passenger ferry has begun operating as part of Captain Cook Cruises' CityHopper service.
Cockle Bay is the first of a planned series of four low-wash catamaran vessels to be designed by Incat Crowther for the hop-on/hop-off service, which covers Sydbey Harbour.
The ferry has an LOA of 12.5 metres, a beam of five metres, a maximum draught of one metre, and space for 60 passengers and one operator. Two Cummins QSB 6.7L 184kW engines deliver a service speed of 18 knots.
Cockle Bay was built by Richardson Devine Marine of Hobart.
