The much anticipated Western Australia Government cabinet reshuffle has seen current Fisheries Minister, Don Punch, retain the portfolio in a decision that has been met with a sigh of relief across the industry.
Under the changes, Minister Punch also absorbs the Regional Development portfolio. The minister has spent years working with Regional Development Commissions.
Minister Whitby retains the Environment portfolio, which will continue to build anxiety for WAFIC members as the South Coast Marine Park process slides towards a messy outcome.
