Kongsberg wins EPCI contract for newbuild Ro-Pax ferry

Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract for engineering and maritime technology deliveries to a Ro-Pax ferry for Irish Continental Group (ICG).

The Ro-Pax ferry will have a 194-metre length overall and 31.6-metre beam with a cargo capacity of 2,800 lane metres, and an additional dedicated car deck for 300 cars. It will be equipped with 435 passenger cabins and a number of restaurants, bars and lounges on 4 decks, with a total capacity of 1,900 passengers and crew.

Optimarin wins 15 unit BWT order for Topaz vessels

Optimarin, a ballast water treatment (BWT) system specialist, has secured an order covering 15 vessels from Vard shipyards.

The vessels, Vard 921-design module carriers, will be constructed at two yards in Romania, Vard Braila and Vard Tulcea, and one in Vietnam, Vard Vung Tau. The vessels, measuring 123 metres long and 16.5 metres wide, will have the capacity to carry deck loads of up to 1,800 tonnes.

MacGregor to deliver Hatlapa deck machinery for 11 ULCCs

MacGregor has signed a contract that will extend its deliveries of Hatlapa deck machinery to a growing series of ultra large container carriers (ULCCs) being built at three shipyards across Asia for COSCO Container Lines.

Currently eleven vessels, varying in size between 19,000 and 20,000TEU, are contracted to be fitted with the Hatlapa deck machinery.
