Gondan delivers live fish carrier

On December 7, Astilleros Gondan delivered the vessel ‘Martin Sæle’, the yard’s first live fish carrier.

After successfully completing sea trials, the vessel headed Bergen, her port of registry, before continuing on to Scotland, where the vessel will operate.

The 50- by 12.6-metre vessel has capacity to transport 1,000m3 of water and fish alive in her hold. She will operate in the Shetland Islands, where she will transport young and adult fish between different farms along the coast, and also to and from fish factories and farms. She is able to accommodate up to seven crew members, but due to her high degree of automation, can be operated with only four.
