Horizon delivers nineteenth towboat to Florida Marine Transporters

US-based Horizon Shipbuilding has delivered the AB York, a 37-metre towboat, to its longtime customer Florida Marine Transporters (FMT). This is the nineteenth vessel delivered to FMT by Horizon.

The AB York, designed by John Gilbert, is four-decked and is outfitted for service in areas restricted to overhead clearances and draught limitations. She is powered by two 1,500kW 3512C Caterpillar engines, provided by Louisiana Machinery, which are coupled to Twin Disc MG5600 reduction gears with a 5.04:1 ratio.

Auxiliary power is supplied by two 175kW Caterpillar C9 generators. The AB York is an open-wheel vessel that holds 220m3 of fuel.
